Spring/Summer 2013 fashion trend: Pretty Pastels

It’s true what they say; all things old become new again. And isn’t that true for the timeless, ever-so feminine and beautifully classic pastel trend. 

Pastels are still going strong, ladies!  Rock the pastel trend this spring. Pastels are a simple yet playful colour palette to keep in your closet for the upcoming season. Pastels go hand-in-hand with Spring/Summer, with their light and airy vibe — and they are huge on the trend scene this season!  

Pastel colours are soft and warm, very feminine and classy if combined the right way. 
Don't be shy of incorporating mint/seafoam, pastel yellow, lilac and blush into your spring wardrobe.  

If you’re worried about piling on pastels and looking like a garden party or a Easter egg, then pair it with black blazer or even biker jacket. It adds a rough edge that’s perfectly balanced between sweet and tough.  When it comes to pastels, it’s not that hard to match pastels with other colours because you can either pair it with a contrasting colour or with basic colours such as black, white and beige. If you prefer to be on the safe side, then pair them with basic colours. You could never go wrong with basic colours.

One of the easiest ways to wear pastels is wearing prints, if you prefer not to go for an all over print choose one pastel printed item such as a skirt and team this with a neutral coloured top with no print! You can separate an all over pastel outfit by keeping neutral shades in your accessories. Turn to tan or grey in particular with belts, shoes, handbags and hats. These break up the colour and help you avoid looking washed out.

You can never go wrong with denim, and pairing your pastel top with a pair of jeans, it adds a touch of sweetness and modernity to the look. A darker wash will give it a more formal look, so if you want something more fresh, a lighter wash like chambray will do the trick.

And when it comes to accessorizing your spring outfits, the pastel palette allows you to introduce a refreshing twist to your attire. Combine pastel outfits with mixed metal accessories or jewelry with pastel hued stones.

If you’re afraid of committing to the pastel trend, start with some adorable accessories first. Pastel accessories look great especially on a black dress.  Opt for a statement necklace in a pastel shade or even a pair of pastel pumps to balance the outfit out.

Spring/Summer Fashion trend 2013: Graphic Tees

Get inspired! Graphic t-shirts are hot trends on the streets.  You can spot this trend everywhere.  Graphic tees are a punch of simplicity and visual interest that can ground any look. Graphic tees are fun, comfy, and can be worn with almost any type of bottoms!

In the past, graphic tees basically epitomized casual style–throw a relaxed band tee over a pair of jeans, add flip flops, and you were good to go. The reincarnation of this style however, is one that is a bit more elevated and fashion-forward. Graphic tees are a style staple that let you show off your personality, with funky prints, funny sayings and artsy designs!

The fringe has been part of the fashion industry for many years from the early days of the Native Americans to the 60's and now it is trending again this season.
