Crop Tops:

This trend is reserved only for the bravest… Ladies we are officially in trouble. The perfect tummy is back in fashion as everyone is rocking the cropped top from the streets to the red carpet.  The trend can be done in a lot of ways, and not all of them will work for every body type.

If you're proud of your tummy, don't be afraid to pick a piece that hits above the belly button. If you're less comfortable showing that much skin, you can still get in on the trend by opting for a top that bares just a peek of your belly and comes in below your midriff.

You don’t want the only cool factor of your outfit to be that your shirt is a bit short. Be on the lookout for cropped tops that have a little something extra whether it be an off-the-shoulder effect, bedazzlement, a mullet tail or an asymmetrical cut. Don’t just buy a blank white tee, kick it up a notch!

The bra-top. one of the hardest style to wear. There are some requirements to wearing this style. You have to be okay with showing your midriff, at least a little bit. If you're super busty, you have to think hard about support.  If you're teeny-tiny and have no need for an underwire or anything like that, this style is effortless.

The muscle tank. Easy to throw on for an afternoon out or a day by the pool, this style is pretty versatile. wearing high-waisted bottoms do a world of good in terms of not feeling overexposed. For the girls with short waists, this is a very wearable style. Also, busty girls can usually pull this look off easily.

The tie-front. I know, it's old-school! But this look is back. And with a high-waisted skirt, you're actually looking at a pretty darling vintage-inspired look

Crop-tops don't have to look and feel like the '90s threw up on your wardrobe. The last thing you want is to obey a trend just because it's a trend.  Put your cropped shirt over something lengthy that will turn heads.

Spring/Summer 2012-13 Trends: Pleats

Spring is fast approaching, and it’s high time to start getting ready for the warm weather.  I know — it's freezing out, and it seems a little crazy to be daydreaming about spring clothes. But this Spring/Summer is all about bright colours and bold prints. So, it’s the right time to ditch the dark and heavy Winter clothes and go for something colourful and trendy, must-have pieces of the season.

Pleats:

Whether they have knife, box pleats, accordion, or superfine crystal pleats, these precisely folded tops, bottoms, and dresses take on a sophistication that goes beyond the pleats on private-school uniforms.  they are romantic-looking, feminine and just plain fabulous.  Pleated skirts come in different lengths, fabrics and colours, and the possibilities of how to wear a pleats are pretty much limitless.

Pleats are flattering to many body shapes, making them a great spring fashion trend! Pleats create volume without being bulky or accentuating bulges. The vintage-style pleats follow the body lines to flatter curves.

pleats create a breezy look as they are featured on long maxi dresses or short, flowing skirts. Both skirt lengths are trending this spring. Pleats also accentuate the flared pants that are popular this spring; the pants create the appearance of long legs as hemlines fall to the length of the floor.

For dresses, the pleats accentuate curves and define feminine style for spring. The pleats are matched with wide belts that replace the thin ones popular earlier in the year.

Pair the pleated skirt and cinched waist with a crisp white shirt to create a flirty, fun look. Layer the shirt with a light sweater if spring weather in the local area is cooler and pair the outfit with a pair of colourful pumps.

Pleats are a major fashion trend for spring.  Even some handbags include pleats! Wear these pieces in bright, bold shades and use colour blocking as well to make a great fashion statement this spring.

Spring/summer 2012-13 Trends: Art Deco

Spring is fast approaching, and it’s high time to start getting ready for the warm weather.  I know — it's freezing out, and it seems a little crazy to be daydreaming about spring clothes. But this Spring/Summer is all about bright colours and bold prints. So, it’s the right time to ditch the dark and heavy Winter clothes and go for something colourful and trendy, must-have pieces of the season.

Art Deco:

With this year’s release of The Great Gatsby, it seems that everywhere you look people are shimmering in their Art Deco pieces.  It all started in the 1920s when the design world shifted from soft curves to very symmetrical lines.

1920s Art Deco is going to be a huge trend going forward into spring.  The style is based on Sleek silhouettes featuring mathematical geometric shapes and it embraces luxury elements. Zigzag lines, heavy detail, bold designs, embellishments, Graphics, geometric lines, abstract shapes and a strong use of symmetry, are some of the key elements used in art deco creations.

the Art Deco trend is unique in that it is both wearable for the daytime and evening, as well as for work or more casual dress, many of the Pieces don't just boast the patterns, but the style of the 1920′s as well: drop waists, column dresses and beaded fringe

For those who are conscious about not making too many over-the-top fashion choices, investing in some bold art deco clutches or accessories will do the trick.   When Art Deco trends are in style it is very easy to find a flapper-inspired dress at stores at resonable prices.
Choose a great eye catching print.  Style it up with solid coloured pieces that match with the ones in the print.
Keep the geometry neat. Even though the trend screams for you to take risks with lines and shapes, going minimalist, yet with an impact, is the secret code.
