Palazzo Pants- New Trend for Summer 2013: Again, this is a look most people can pull off.  Wide and incredibly comfortable pants that has marked 70′s, this season is returning to the fashion scene. These comfortable and lightweight pants are perfect fit for everybody’s shape.

The new trend, palazzo pants, are elegant and feminine and, because of their wide leg and light fabric, they’re perfect for keeping you cool on hot summer days.  I need a pair in every colour and print! But how many ways can you actually wear palazzo pants without looking like you wear the same outfit every time?
  • An ideal pair of Palazzos should skim the floor with heels on.
  • Pair your printed palazzo pants with an easy flowy tank in a solid colour.
  • If you are slender, you can go the slouchy way by pairing flowy palazzo pants with the an equally flowing button up.
  • Add cropped jacket and booties to toughen up the look.
  • Wear fitted tops or tuck your top in when wearing Palazzos as it gives the illusion of a taller frame.
  • Wear your palazzos in Winter by pairing them up with a cashmere and a leather jacket.
  • Cinch you waist with a belt and pair your pants with a tank top. Statement jewellery never hurts!
  • Even petite women can rock the look if one gets the style right. Pair them up with Gorgeous High heels for an instant slimming effect and tuck the top in.
  • Opt for a plain or a solid colour top when pairing it with lovely floral prints. Always remember the golden rule – Pair Prints with a solid colour.
  • A crop top is always an option if you are blessed with washboard abs.
  • work wear can be created by pairing tailored palazzos with feminine tops.
  • Wear fitted tops or tuck your top in when wearing Palazzos as it gives the illusion of a taller you. Your tops can be colourful to balance the look.
  • Wear wedges heels to add height.
  • Throw on a blazer to make your outfit a bit streamlined.
  • Accessorize with contrasting jewelry for jazzing up the outfit.
A fitted or body-skimming blouse, tank, or t-shirt with flowing palazzo pants. The trick is that if you go huge and flowy on bottom, you can't go blousy on top, or you can look too big all over.   If you follow the baggy pants + fitted top formula, you can’t go wrong.

How do you feel about Palazzos? would you wear them? how would you wear them? tell us by leaving a comment.

Trending: Tulle skirts and how to wear them

Wednesday, October 23, 2013
I love tulle skirts, there is something so girly and pretty about this trend and it turns out, that the new tulle skirt trend is a very versatile piece in your wardrobe that has a childlike ballerina feel that is bound to make you look and feel like a princess. It’s super girly, chic and one of the most fun trends to start coming out to play.

How to style them = It really depends on your personal style! If you are a bit more edgy, throw on a studded leather jacket and combat boots with your skirt.
If you are on the preppy side, layer a button up shirt with a sweater and oxfords with your skirt to complete the look.

If you are going for a classy look, pair the skirt with a bright blazer and some nude pumps. Instantly adorable! If you like a retro look, add a pair of dark tights and Mary Jane pumps with a simple blouse.

sticking to a skirt that is one length all the way around, preferably above or around the knee.
Asymmetrical hemlines or those that have a short lining and sheer overlay tend to look a bit cheap.

You can definitely play with contrasts when it comes to tulle and use the opportunity to tackle more masculine pieces of clothing to balance the skirt's softness.

There are many special occasion dresses that feature fitted bodices and tulle skirts. If you have a tulle skirt you can create your own after five look by partnering it with a complimentary corset.

Denim jackets work much in the same way as leather jackets or T-shirts with a tulle skirt, in that they play down the ballerina vibe and create a more casual look. In general you want to select cropped styles, or fitted styles, because tulle skirts can be quite full and overall this could swamp your figure if you don’t partner it with the right top silhouette.

Tulle skirts can be a great way to add some prettiness to your winter wardrobe. Try pairing them with different styles of tights and a cardigan. When it comes to footwear, ballet flats and strappy heels typically look really good with this style.

It’s a fun item to have in the closet when you’re wanting to wear something a little more ‘outside the box’ and adventurous.

This was something different and new. I admired it but couldn’t bring myself to try it on. Where would I wear it? How would I wash it? And most importantly, what would I wear with it?

How to Wear the Body-Con Trend

Monday, October 21, 2013
Short for “body conscious” (think super tight bandage style dresses.), body-con is a huge trend right now.  Bodycon dresses have been a wardrobe staple for most ladies who love to flaunt their curves.  It has been one of the most sought after fashion trends not only on the runway but also by celebrities on red carpet events. In fact, it is slowly becoming a classic staple similar to the LBD.

From skintight pencil skirts (or bodycon skirts) to figure-hugging dresses and even form-fitting high-waisted jeans, the body-con silhouette will have you showing off your shape if you choose to partake this season.  But how do you wear it? Will it be flattering? How can you keep your look sultry, not trashy?

General Body-Con Tips:

  • Don’t be afraid! The thought of tight, figure-hugging clothing probably inspires fear in the majority of women, but it shouldn’t! Most body-con pieces are actually pretty flattering, due to the fact that they suck you in, smoothing out your shape. Still self-conscious? Try wearing Spanx or even high-waisted sheer footless tights under anything you feel is too tight or short.
  • Play with proportions. As I’ve stressed in previous articles, if you’re wearing a tight item of clothing, it’s a good rule to balance it out with an item that’s not as form fitting. Wearing a tight skirt? Try a colourful, loose-fitting tank tank top for balance.
  • Choose what to showcase. Sure, a tight bandage dress is a great option for a night at the club, but it’s not for every day! For normal wear, it’s best to decide what assets to flaunt and cover the rest! Example: if you’re wearing tight, high-waisted jeans, put on a short sleeved turtleneck! That way, you flaunt your legs and butt, but keep the cleavage under wraps for a classy look.
  • Go dark. Because these styles are so form fitting, it’s best to opt for a dark colour if you’re feeling at all shy about showing your shape. Black, dark gray, brown, navy, and even deep purples and reds are all great colour choices for body-con pieces.
  • Length Does Matter. A bodycon dress has been depicted as tight and very short – almost like an exclusively clubwear piece. But in fact, some bodycon dresses can go below the knee. The catch is, make sure you wear the right length of dress to the right occasion. a bodycon mini dress is great for turning heads at a club but would not be appropriate for brunch.
  • Work: Office wear doesn’t have to mean boring. Try a slightly conservative version of the body con dress – think longer hemlines and high necks. If you are still unsure, layer your body con dress with a fitted jacket.
  • Pick your pairings wisely. What you wear with your body-con is almost as important as the body-con item itself! For city chic looks, pair body-con dresses with bombers, boyfriend blazers, or jean jackets. If you’re doing the body-con thing in the AM choose conservative shoes–think ballet flats or boots. Even your accessories can provide some needed coverage, so go ahead and pull out your scarf from last fall! It’s all about striking a balance between showing off your hot bod and keeping it classy.
